11/27/2016 0 Comments Wow, this is a lot of work!We all have these lofty ideas, great inspirations. Maybe even set some goals to achieve them. But wow, does it take quite a lot of work to carry those out!
How many times do we set out to do something great, only to fail from seeing it come to fruition? As I type this, several of my previous ideas are running through my head that I have bought ALL of the supplies for, even setup websites for each project. I have an entire room that is at least 50% filled with supplies for ideas I've had; sewing projects, scrapbook supplies, everything needed to make hand-made cards ... shall I go on? For me, most of the time these projects get bumped to the back of the list because I have so many other things that take priority. The rate at which projects are completed is always determined by my personal perspective of priority for the task at hand. Does this matter more than .... (fill in the blank)? If I place the highest priority on it, it gets done. Today, Sunday Nov. 27th (3 days after Thanksgiving) my priority is finishing off the lemon meringue pie before it goes bad. :) Coffee, for me, is high priority. I'm not just making coffee, I'm making AMAZING coffee and educating my local area about health, well-being and having options to choose from that can directly impact their long term health. THAT gets high priority. We as spouses, parents, children, family members etc. can get overloaded with different responsibilities and tasks that are both absolute necessity and voluntary. Our job is the take these tasks and prioritize them daily. We need to make sure that we dedicate the appropriate time to these responsibilities in order to have a well-balanced life. Obviously for me, my family is my highest priority. But it's also making sure that we provide the best coffee available for our customers. That takes work. That takes high priority. Making it priority takes planning, focus, thought, a lot of research, dedication to excellence/quality and hours and hours of actual work. Every day I get up excited to put the time and energy into my family and my craft. I look forward to serving my customers (and family) and letting them know that I care about them, their health and well being. I write this not as an indictment on anyone for wrongly placed priorities, but as a reminder to keep focused on the act of daily prioritizing. What is the highest priority for you today? What do you want to MAKE SURE you finish?
